Styx Mill Country Club was an innovative product that introduced many new concepts to the New Zealand residential sub-division market. As a result we needed superior sales and marketing skills to succeed in what was, at the time, a highly competitive market. Due to being able to translate those expectations into results and Hamish became an integral part of our team.

Prior to Hamish coming to work with us, we had employed several sales consultants, including development specialists, real estate agents and internally based employees. At times throughout the course of the development we sought to increase sales by appointing other real estate firms and project specialists to sell alongside Hamish. However, none of these firms were able to deliver results. Hamish proved to be the most capable person we have dealt with in a sales role.

 Hamish delivered results that were consistent and of a high standard. He worked hard to achieve increasing values throughout the course of the development and his results often exceeded my expectations.

It is clear that Hamish has a very creative and focused approach that considers the needs of the market, as well as an understanding of council zoning requirements and the economics of construction. We commissioned Hamish to undertake a Market Research project for our proposed 250 Unit Retirement Village. We were looking for statistics on the amount of demand that we might initially expect for our project, with forward projections over time. With investors standing by for this information, it was essential that this report provided detailed and verifiable information that showed what our own basic research suspected.

Hamish conducted his own detailed independent research and then supported that with additional information from the recognised retirement village industry market research provider, Jones Lang Lasalle. Hamish’s research was of such a high quality that when he checked the information provided by JLL’s statisticians, he found that their information didn’t tally with his. He identified the source as being an error within the data supplied by Statistics New Zealand, and asked JLL and Stats to revise their information accordingly.

Knowing that this information was crucial to the success (and partial sale) of our project, Hamish went above and beyond what was required of him and provided a detailed, high-quality report under pressure from an impending deadline.

Getting the report in time for our crucial meeting was fantastic and Hamish’s work greatly exceeded our expectations. We hope to utilise his services again on our project.
