Hamish’s passion for property began back in 1992 when he worked for John Britten, an entrepreneurial great in property development as well an internationally acclaimed motorcycle builder.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Management with double majors in Marketing and Business Communication, plus 8 other qualifications in business, sales, marketing, management, HR and tourism. He has held various senior corporate roles including area sales manager and then the national marketing role for Hertz NZ and marketing manager for the Rick Armstrong Motor Group. Hamish also created the Tourism Managed Investment Property Division for another national real estate brand.
Hamish’s results speak for themselves. As a property sales consultant, in the residential areas he specialised in, he has statistically often achieved better results than any other Agent. His marketing expertise and strong negotiating skills, backed up by a strong analytical focus, make him an asset for sellers. He considers it his personal mission to get the very best price for his clients and takes great pride in having been offered listings from buyers to sell their home after he got them to pay thousands of dollars more for his listings.
Hamish has been a specialist in residential subdivisions since early 2004 when he developed a marketing campaign and sold down the 225 section/40 apartment Styx Mill Country Club development in Christchurch. Since then he has worked with many developers on projects in New Zealand and overseas. He lives in and is a local expert in the North West Christchurch area, having sold down the exclusive Riverside Reserve subdivision in Hussey Road in record time. More recently he was sales manager for Pegasus Town and GM Sales and Marketing for the Ravenswood development in North Canterbury.
Hamish founded Venterra, a specialist property development marketing brand, in response to a need from developers for a more consultative approach to sales and marketing in new developments.

Over the years he has become well versed in all areas of property development and residential construction, and is a shareholder and partner in Homeco, a developer and builder of energy efficient, environmentally sustainable homes and light commercial buildings.
Friendly, enthusiastic and able to come up with solutions that are ‘outside the square’, Hamish is committed to providing outstanding customer service and delivering superior results. He believes the basis of this is in listening to and understanding his clients, tailoring a solution that fits their property and their situation and creating a unique point of difference that will compel the target market for that property to buy for the highest price.
Born and bred in Canterbury, Hamish and prides himself on his wide personal and professional network. In his spare time he enjoys varied sporting pursuits. He is an avid Squash player and, when time allows, he can sometimes be found on the ski slopes in winter and, in summer, riding around the hills on his bike or one of his Italian motorbikes.
